Mad Debt is a debt resolution company. We are not a law firm, a bank, a
lender or a credit repair service, and nothing we provide is legal, tax,
bankruptcy or accounting advice. Where borrowing is the better route we
introduce clients to third-party lenders; those lenders decide who they
approve and on what terms, not us.
Historically, clients who completed the program and settled every enrolled
debt achieved savings of approximately 40% or more before fees, and around 16%
once fees are taken into account, over a period of 24 to 48 months. Those figures
come from the program provider's own historical data and from results actually
achieved by clients who finished the program. What happens in any individual case
depends on that person's circumstances, and past results are not a promise of
future ones.
Everything described on this site applies only to debts actually enrolled
in a program, and not every debt can be enrolled. Not everyone who starts
finishes, most often because they cannot set aside enough money along the
way. We make no promise that a debt will be resolved for a particular sum,
a particular percentage, or inside a particular period of time. We do not
take on your debts as our own, and we do not pay your creditors out of our
own money.
Using a debt resolution service is likely to damage your credit.
Creditors and collectors are free to keep pursuing you and may take you to
court, and the balance on an enrolled account can grow while interest and
fees continue to build. Where a settlement is agreed, it clears that
account in full, including the interest and fees that accumulated on it.
The service is not offered in every state and what it costs can differ
from one state to another. Settling a debt for less than the full balance
may have tax consequences, so speak to a tax professional about your own
circumstances. Read every program document in full, and be sure you
understand it, before you enroll in anything.
